Synopsis

Over a period of 2 years I worked with London based curatorial company ‘Cole Projects’ to produce branding and exhibition materials for a number of their events.

Exhibition

We Sing the body electric

An all-female exhibition that draws it’s title from a Walt Whitman poem which made the case for the inclusion of women in the democratic body by deconstructing the idea that the figure is always gendered. The works featured explore ideas of the un-gendered body and highlight new ways that artists are dealing with the body- with a focus on it’s materiality.

Earth Eaters is an alternative name for the condition Geophagia - the practice in humans and animals of eating earth or more specifically the clay and mineral content within it. This exhibition explores the relationships between philosophy and nature, the personal and the political, destruction and construction, with the works featured bringing into question what is at stake in the ecological crises of the 21st century.

Exhibition

Sovereignty in chaos

At a time when instability was spreading like a virus through the political climate, with our governing bodies around the world free falling from one catastrophe to the next, this exhibition presented ideas of reclaiming individual agency, and sovereignty, as a method for navigating our fractured societal systems and taking action to steady our collective course through the storm.
